ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — After a Long road trip that saw the Lobos take down their first Power 5 squad since 2012, The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is set to return home on Sunday, Dec. 1 for the first of two straight home contests this week. Sunday’s tipoff is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. MT.

The Lobos (6-2) return to The Pit coming off of a 59-50 win over Wisconsin on Tuesday to wrap up the 2019 Roman Legends Classic presented by Old Trapper. The Lobos took on Wisconsin and then-No. 18/19 Auburn in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Montana (3-4) enters Sunday’s game on a quick turnaround after a Friday night win over Coppin State at home. After starting the season 1-4, Montana has won its last two straight heading into Sunday’s contest.

The Lobos are led by four players averaging scoring in double figures including redshirt-senior JaQuan Lyle (16.9), redshirt-senior Carlton Bragg Jr. (10.9), senior Corey Manigault (10.6) and junior Makuach Maluach (10.6). Bragg also leads the Lobos in blocks with 9.0 per game.

Montana is led by two players registering double digits including senior Sayeed Pridgett (17.9) and redshirt-senior Kendal Manuel (13.3). Pridgett also leads the Griz in rebounds with 7.6 per game.

DIAPER DRIVE
The University of New Mexico athletic department is partnering with UNM Children’s Hospital for a Diaper Drive during Sunday’s game against Montana. Fans have the opportunity to help support New Mexico families by bringing diapers to the game or by donating online (unmfund.org/diapers). 

Fans that bring donations to the game will be able to purchase a discounted ticket.

In addition to the Diaper Drive, the Lobos are hosting their first Baby Race of the season at halftime of the Montana game!

SERIES HISTORY
Montana leads the series over the Lobos 16-8 with New Mexico claiming their last meeting. UNM is 1-4 over the last five meetings. The last time UNM won back-to-back contests in the series was in 1960 when the Lobos earned wins on Jan. 17 and Feb. 18.

The last time the squads met was in the 2010 NCAA East Region First Round on March 18, 2010 when the Lobos earned a 62-57 victory in San Jose, Calif. to advance to play No. 8/10 Washington in the East Region Second Round two days later.

THE COACHES
Head coach Paul Weir is 39-35 in his third year at the helm of the Lobos, 67-41 in his fourth season as a head coach. Montana head coach Travis Decuire is 112-62 in his sixth season with the Grizzlies and is the same in his career.
