Lobos Host Diaper Drive 12/1, Looking for Baby Race Candidates

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico athletic department is partnering with UNM Children’s Hospital for a Diaper Drive at the Lobo men’s basketball game on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. vs. Montana. Fans have the opportunity to help support New Mexico families by bringing diapers to the game or by donating online. 

Fans that bring donations to the game will be able to purchase a discounted ticket.

In addition to the Diaper Drive, the Lobos are hosting their first Baby Race of the season at halftime of the Montana game and looking for contestants!

Participants in the Baby Race must be crawling infants 6-12 months old, but not yet able to walk. Little ones will go head-to-head with other worthy competitors as they race across 12 feet of The Pit floor. The winner will crawl away with Lobo gear!

Fans in attendance that don’t have babies to enter in the race can still help the cause. Fans can bring diapers to the game to donate or, fans can donate online through the UNMFund website: unmfund.org/diapers.
