Lobos Host Cherry and Silver Game Sat., Oct. 12
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — For the third-straight year, The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will debut its roster in public hosting a special Cherry & Silver game prior to kicking off the season. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, October 12, in Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit at 6 p.m. and will benefit the Send-A-Kid program.
The Send-A-Kid program works to send Albuquerque youth that may not have the opportunity to experience sporting events to Lobo basketball games.
New this season, admission to the Cherry & Silver game will be donation based and all proceeds will be donated to the Send-A-Kid program. Fans may donate either online or at the event at whatever donation level they prefer. Fans are encouraged to bring the whole family to see the Lobos as they take to the court for the first time in 2019-20!
The action-packed event will not only include Lobo fans’ first chance to see the 2019-20 Lobos, but will also include the ever-popular 3-point shootout and dunk competition. Following the event, the players will also be on-hand for autographs.
During last year’s dunk competition, now-sophomore Drue Drinnon won with a leap over two people, including then-senior Dane Kuiper, on his way to the basket. (photo above)
