ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s golf team is set to conclude its 2019 fall campaign at the White Sands Invitational hosted by Houston on Monday, Oct. 28 through Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Nassau, Bahamas. The Lobos will compete at the Ocean Club on the par-72, 6,415-yard course.

The Lobos will compete in a field of 14 teams including four ranked in the top 25 in the nation. Teams taking on the Lobos include No. 2 Texas, No. 16 (tied) Arkansas, No. 22 Mississippi State and No. 23 (tied) Houston. In addition, Ohio State, Baylor, and Georgia are each receiving votes. Other squads competing in the Bahamas include Clemson, Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Texas, SMU and Tulane.
Among the 13 competitors, the Lobos have already faced five this season including Texas, Baylor, North Texas and SMU at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational after taking on Mississippi State at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. Texas finished first at the Betsy Rawls Invite, Baylor tied for seventh, North Texas finished 11th and SMU placed 15th, 13 strokes behind UNM, with a score of 917 (+53). At the McGuire, Mississippi State finished sixth, 16 strokes ahead of UNM.
The Lobos are coming off a 14th-place finish on Oct. 12-13 at the Betsy Rawls Invite. Napat “Jenny” Lertsadwattana led the Lobos through the three rounds of competition with a final score of 221 (+5) to place 30th overall.
The teams will tee off at 8 a.m. ET/6 a.m. MT on Monday with a shotgun start for the first round followed by round two on Tuesday with another 8 a.m. ET/6 a.m. MT shotgun start. Round three will take place Wednesday at the same time.
