First Pitch Banquet featuring ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian set for Feb. 8

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico baseball program has announced the date and details for their annual First Pitch Banquet. This year’s banquet will be held on Friday, February 8 at The Event Center at Sandia Golf Club and will feature ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian as the special guest speaker.
 
“Providing a class event for our banquet is important for our baseball community,” said head coach Ray Birmingham. “Our First Pitch Banquet has been the best banquet at UNM for the past several years and it is hard ticket to get, so I encourage Lobo baseball fans to make sure they don’t wait!”
 
“This will be also be a great chance to meet the 2019 Lobos, honor the 1962 baseball team and listen to one of the country’s best baseball minds in Tim Kurkjian talk about New Mexico’s rich baseball history,” added Birmingham.
 
Tim Kurkjian joined ESPN in March 1998 as both a reporter for Baseball Tonight and a senior writer for ESPN The Magazine. He continues to provide insight and analysis through his writing and regular appearances on Baseball Tonight and other ESPN studio shows including SportsCenter.
