Women’s basketball to hold “Pack the Pit” game vs. Fresno State

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico athletic department has announced that it will hold their annual “Pack the Pit” game this coming Saturday, February 2 when the first-place women’s basketball team takes on Fresno State inside Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit.
 
The Lobos are currently 17-2 overall and in first place in the Mountain West standings at 7-1. Additionally, the Lobos are receiving votes in both the AP Top-25 and WBCA Top-25 national polls. Their opponent on Saturday is off to a great start in league play as well as Fresno State is currently 13-5 overall and 6-1 in the MW. The Bulldogs do have a game prior to Saturday, so there is likely to be a lot on the line on Saturday!
 
As part of the “Pack the Pit” promotion, deuces will be wild as the game will feature $2 tickets for all sections of the arena except for Lobo Level, Club Level and Suites. Additionally, the first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a FREE clear Lobo bag that can be used in Las Vegas for the upcoming Mountain West Tournament. Furthermore, a number of former Lobo Women’s Basketball players will be in attendance and recognized at halftime as part of Letterman’s Day.
