ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Lobo Den at Dreamstyle Arena is currently transitioning to a new provider for athletic apparel and merchandise. During this transition, the Lobo Den will be closed. The retail space is located at the grand entrance to Dreamstyle Arena, one of the most famous basketball venues in all the NCAA.
The Lobo Den, which has been operated by UNM Bookstores, closed for the final time before the transition on Friday, April 5. UNM Bookstores still has two locations, on main campus at 2301 Central Avenue and at 1001 Stanford NE, which is UNM’s Medical and Legal Bookstore. An announcement on the new provider for the Lobo Den will occur after the Request for Proposal process is completed.
The timing makes perfect sense for the department as the Lobo Den is entering its traditional slow season with a minimum amount of events in Dreamstyle Arena over the summer months. It will also allow for UNM to maximize revenue opportunities in time for the 2019 football season and beyond.
“Lobo Athletics has had a wonderful partnership with the UNM Bookstores over the past 10 years. They have provided a great service to Lobo fans. As we move forward with a new provider we hope to continue that level of service and also add new customer-friendly features.” said Director of Athletics Eddie Nuñez.
