ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—  The University of New Mexico beach volleyball team returns to Phoenix, Ariz., and Grand Canyon University for three matches this weekend.

Coming off their first wins of the season, the Lobos have a rematch with GCU (5-2) to begin the weekend, a Friday contest scheduled for 5 p.m. MT.  GCU defeated UNM 4-1 on Feb. 22 with the lone win for the Lobos coming from Lauren Twitty and Dali Rosado who won in two sets, 23-12 and 21-15, against GCU’s no. 1 duo of Hannah Towne and Anaya Evans.

Following that contest, UNM will play San Diego City College (5-1) Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., the first meeting all-time between the two teams.

On Saturday, the Lobos will finish the weekend with a meeting against Arizona Christian University (0-2), also a matchup of firsts for UNM.

Last weekend, the Lobos went 2-2 on the weekend, but picked up their first win of the season in a 3-2 win over host Texas A&M-Kingsville. UNM went on to then defeat Missouri Baptist in a 5-0 sweep to move to 2-5 on the season.

The team of Abbey Willison and Emily Nenninger won both their matchups on Saturday as did the pairing of Claire Nenninger and Jaclyn Inclan.

Twitty and Rosado won all of their matchups last weekend in Kingsville and have won five of their court duals this season.
