SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Maybe she was in the wrong event in Pyeongchang?

Soňa Moravčíková finished on the podium twice at the UNM Invitational, finishing second on Friday and then first on Saturday, and that performance earned her the honor of being named the RMISA Women’s Alpine Skier of the Week.  She is the third Lobo skier to earn the honor.

One of several newcomers to the squad, Moravčíková joins Kornelius Grøv and Vegard Busengdal in earning weekly league honors.  Both Grøv and Busengdal won for their efforts at the Montana State Invitational.  Moravčíková scored 77 points on the weekend out of a possible 80 in finishing first and second on the weekend.  Moravčíková represented Slovakia in the 2018 Winter Olympics, competing in the giant slalom.  At the UNM Invitational  her finishes came in a pair of slalom races.

UNM has the weekend off before heading to Alaska for the final regular season meet as well as the RMISA Championships.  The final regular season meet, the UAA Invitational, is February 17-21, while the RMISA meet is February 20-24.
