ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— While The University of New Mexico track and field team is breaking records on the track, the men’s team is also breaking records in the classroom.
The men’s cross country and track and field team recorded the best GPA in program history in the Fall 2018 semester, posting a grade-point-average of 3.52. They were one of four programs that set overall program records in the Fall.
Their GPA was an improvement of 0.44 GPA since spring 2018 and was the third-highest GPA among male sports.
It also marked the 15th consecutive semester that the men have recorded a GPA of 3.0 or above and in five of the last seven semesters has posted a GPA of 3.40.
UNM returns to competition this Friday and Saturday at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
