ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The University of New Mexico swimming and diving team posted a team GPA of 3.76 in the 2018 Fall term, as announced by the department Wednesday, which proved to be among the best results in the department and in program history.
The team accumulated the highest team grade-point-average in the history of the swimming and diving program, as well as the fourth-highest Fall 2018 GPA among all UNM sports and the third-highest GPA among just women’s sports.
In addition, the 3.76 GPA marks the fifth time in the last 10 semesters that swimming and diving has recorded one of the top-five GPAs in the program’s history, and of those, eight times that the team’s GPA has been above 3.50.
The team saw a 0.32 grade-point improvement from Spring 2018.
UNM returns to competition this Saturday when the Lobos host the Nevada Wolf Pack at noon. Saturday’s dual will mark the final home meet of the season for UNM, and in being so, will be Senior Day where the program will honor the team’s five seniors.
