FloTrack Release | USTFCCCA Release | USTFCCCA TFRI
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The University of New Mexico women’s track and field team improved its rankings in the latest USTFCCCA and FloTrack polls released on Monday, moving up to eighth and third, respectively.
The Lobos earned 38 points in the FloTrack projected women’s team ranking to move up one spot from fourth to third, sitting one point ahead of Georgia and five points behind Arkansas. USC, who the Lobos competed against at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational the weekend of Jan. 18 and 19, moved into first with 49 points.
In the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field National Rating Index (TFRI), the Lobos improved their rating by 16.24 points since the last poll released on Jan. 22 to improve three spots to the eighth spot, holding a 0.46 point advantage over No. 9 Georgia. Florida State is just 0.81 points ahead of New Mexico.

Aiding in the move up in the rankings was Weini Kelati’s mile performance at Saturday’s New Mexico Team Invitational, where the sophomore broke a school record with 4:33.34 (altitude conversion) and ran the third-fastest time recorded in the event this season in the NCAA.
UNM returns to the Albuquerque Convention Center once again this weekend for the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. Competition will begin on Friday and continue on Saturday.
