ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team remains at home for its second game of a four-game home stand on Sunday with an afternoon matchup at 2 p.m. against Central Arkansas.

The Lobos (4-4) enter the game on a three-game skid after falling by just three points in a tough matchup against Pac-12 opponent Colorado at home on Tuesday night. Senior Anthony Mathis racked up seven made threes on the night for the third time in his career, his second this season, to lead the Lobos with 23 points. He is ranked 14th in the nation in 3-point field goals per game (3.88) and 15th in 3-point field goal percentage (50.8).

Central Arkansas is 4-5 on the season. The Bears came out on the winning side of a three-point game last Saturday at Little Rock (85-82). UCA has had a full week to recover entering Sunday’s game.

Not only is Mathis ranked among the top players in the country, the Lobos also enter their ninth game of the season ranked 23rd in the nation in 3-point field goals per game (10.1). UNM has scored 10 or more threes per game in seven of their eight games so far this season.
