Dorsey lands on United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Outgoing senior defender Matt Dorsey of The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team was named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region Team as it was announced by the coaching organization on Monday.

Dorsey, a native of Spring, Texas, earned the academic honor after boasting a 3.87 GPA in business administration at UNM. The honor from the United Soccer Coaches comes in addition to Dorsey earning Google Cloud Academic All-District® honors back in November.
 
This past season, Dorsey played and started in all 17 of UNM’s games. He logged 1,307 minutes of action in his senior season and totaled five points by scoring twice and recording an assist as well.
 
For his four-year career as a Lobo, Dorsey saw over 3,400 minutes on the pitch and played in 70 games, starting 31. Prior to his senior season, Dorsey had one career goal and two assists. With his senior season added to the ledger, Dorsey totaled nine points with three goals and three assists.
