The award is given to Robertson in response to her sensational game on the road at Houston this past Saturday. In that game, Robertson registered a triple-double as she scored 28 points, hauled in 11 rebounds (all defensive), and dished out 11 assists in the Lobos’ thrilling 89-94 double overtime win against the Cougars.
Eight of her points came in the second overtime as she took over offensively. The final five points for Robertson came in succession, and each basket broke a tied score. The last her field goals was a three-pointer that broke an 84-all score with 42 seconds left.
The triple-double for Robertson is the first in her career and just the sixth in NCAA Division I this season. Additionally, it is the seventh triple-double in Lobo women’s basketball history and the 17th in Mountain West history.
Robertson joins teammate Jaisa Nunn as a Mountain West Player of the Week honoree. Nunn earned the award last week (Nov. 19).
Robertson and the Lobos are preparing for a big week ahead with home games against Oklahoma (Nov. 28) and New Mexico State (Dec. 1). For game information and how to follow along live, visit GoLobos.com
