Lobo Pride Episode 7: Vera Jo Bustos
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Even as a little girl, Vera Jo Bustos went to Lobo games and wanted to be a part of Lobo Basaketball. At West Las Vegas High School, Bustos became the all-time leading scorer with over 2,000 points, leading to a tremendous career at Adams State, a small Division II school in Colorado. There, she again became the all-time leading scorer, this time with over 1,800 points.
After a short pro career, Bustos has made to where she always dreamed she’d be … wearing the Cherry and Silver. Ih her fifth year on the staff of Lobo Women’s Basketball Bustos has done plenty, and daily sees little girls in the stands, serving as her reminder that dreams do come true.
