OFFICIAL MOUNTAIN WEST RELEASE
Johnson, a native of Western Springs, Ill., earned the first conference weekly honor of her career after she played every minute in goal this weekend and helped guide the Lobos to a 2-0-0 weekend. On Friday night against Air Force, Johnson notched her first solo shutout of the season as she stopped both of the Falcons’ shots on goal en route to the clean sheet.
Johnson’s lone blemish came against Colorado College with one goal surrendered to the Tigers, but overall for the week, Johnson registered six saves and had a save percentage of .857. She lowered her goals against average to 1.44 as well in the process.

The two wins that Johnson helped achieve secured a place in the upcoming Mountain West Tournament as the Lobos are currently in a three-way tie for second place and one game back from a tie for first place with Boise State.
Johnson joins teammate Aleisa Garcia in earning a Mountain West weekly honor this season. Johnson is also the first MW Defensive Player of the Week since Emily Chavez in 2015 and the first goalkeeper since Cassie Ulrich in 2014.
Johnson and the Lobos will return to action for their regular season finale on Friday night at San Diego State. First-kick for the game is scheduled for 8 p.m. (MT).
