Men’s Soccer earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for 15th time overall
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 15th time in the last 16 years, the University of New Mexico men’s soccer team has earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award as it was announced by the media outlet on Thursday. This latest academic achievement was credited to the 2017-18 men’s soccer team.

That team was one of 289 men’s soccer teams across the country to be recognized for their overall academic efforts in the academic year of 2017-18. Additionally, the 2017-18 Lobos were one of five schools from Conference USA to earn the award.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches Services Program and earned a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster. The Lobos collectively sported a 3.26 team GPA.
