Lobos Ranked First for Fourth Consecutive Poll

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— For the fourth-straight poll, the University of New Mexico women’s cross country team remained No. 1 in the latest USTFCCCA National Coaches’ Poll released on Tuesday.

The Lobos continued to receive all 11 first-place votes for the unanimous top-ranking, followed by Colorado, Stanford, Oregon and Boise State.

This latest poll marks the fourth-straight week that UNM ranked No. 1, surpassing the 2016 season when the Lobos ranked first in the first three polls.

Up next for the cross country team is the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational, scheduled for this Friday at 10 a.m. MT at the Zimmer Championship Course.  According to the USTFCCCA release, 15 of the 30 ranked teams and seven of the top-10 teams will be running in the Madison, Wis., competition.
