The 2018 schedule highlights NCAA Tournament teams Air Force, Seattle, Washington, Old Dominion, Florida International and perennial powers UC Santa Barbara and South Carolina. The Lobos are set to open with a trio of exhibition contests, the first at home against West Texas on Aug. 13, the second two on the road at Denver (Aug. 15) and Air Force (Aug. 18).

The Lobos will open the regular-season at home on Friday, Aug. 24, against Seattle, a squad that advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The exciting matchup will be followed by an Aug. 27 home contest against the visiting Washington Huskies at the UNM Soccer Complex.

“I am really excited about this schedule that features top talent from some of the best programs from across the country,” head coach Jeremy Fishbein said. “The goal of our program is to compete against the best teams in the nation on a yearly basis and we have accomplished that with our 2018 schedule.

“Our fans will get to experience the best soccer the NCAA has to offer and will get to see the future stars of the professional game here at the UNM Soccer Complex. Our fans provide a great home-field advantage … loud and proud!”

Following the first two home matchups, UNM will play three road contests at CSUN, Cal State Fullerton and Tulsa before returning home to face UC Santa Barbara on Sept. 11.

The Lobos open conference play at home with an action-packed tilt against reigning C-USA Tournament Champion Old Dominion on Sept. 15 and will hit the road twice (at Florida Atlantic and Saint Mary’s) before taking on 2017 C-USA Regular-Season Champion FIU at home on Sept. 29.

In October the Lobos will host three home matches, one non-conference against LMU (Oct. 2) and a pair of C-USA contests against South Carolina (Oct. 13) and Marshall (Oct. 27).

The final three C-USA road games will be at UAB (Oct. 6), at Kentucky (Oct. 21) and the Lobos will finish the regular season at Charlotte (Nov. 3) before the C-USA Tournament is set to begin on Nov. 7 at Charlotte.
