Lobos Tie for 12th to End Regular Season Play

DAY TWO RESULTS

BRYAN, Texas — The University of New Mexico men’s golf team finished play at the Aggie Invitational, its last regular-season tournament of the 2017-2018 season, on Sunday by tying for 12th place with New Mexico State University. The Lobos shot a team-best 16-over 304 in round three to finish the tournament with a 67-over 931 total.

UNM was paced by redshirt senior Andre Garcia, who shot a 5-over 77 in round three to finish the tournament with a 10-over 226 total. Junior Sean Carlon was one stroke behind, posting a 3-over 75 in round three for an 11-over 227 total. Carlon was followed by sophomore Sam Dickey, who shot a 4-over 76 in round three for a 23-over 239 total. Freshman Galven Green and redshirt freshman Ross Sinclair finished fourth and fifth on the team respectively, with Green shooting a 4-over 76 in round three for a 25-over 241 total and Sinclair shooting an 8-over 80 in round three for a 29-over 245 total.

No. 1 Oklahoma State ended the tournament at the top of the leaderboard after finishing round two with a 9-over 297 and shooting a tournament-best 11-under 277 to finish with a final tally of 5-over 869. Kent State followed, shooting a 1-under 287 in round two and a 3-under 285 in round three for a 12-over 876 total. Finally, No. 12 LSU finished third after a 7-over 295 round two score and a 1-under 287 score for a final tally of 18-over 882.

The Lobos are back in action on Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22 for the Mountain West Championships at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.
