Men’s Basketball Looking to Hire Managers

ManagersManagers

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is searching for UNM students who would like to join the program as student managers for the 2018-19 academic year.

Any current or incoming full-time UNM student is welcome to apply. Students interested in a manager position must be available for practices and games. Practice is typically held in the afternoon during the week and on weekends. Spring and summer work is also possible during off-season workouts and the Paul Weir Basketball Camps.

Students selected will have a chance to work under the direction of second-year head coach Paul Weir, who led the Lobos to a Mountain West Championship appearance in his first season. Student managers provide assistance with equipment, film breakdown, rebounding and other tasks assigned by the coaching staff. The position offers real-world experience for any student who is interested in pursuing a career in sports administration, coaching or a related field.

Student managers will receive priority registration for classes, authentic team Nike gear, a small stipend and an opportunity to travel to away competition.

Students interested in applying should send resume and cover letter to Ryan Berryman at rdb8@unm.edu. For more information, including questions, contact Ryan at the email above or call (505)-925-5563.
