ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico softball team is set to host an exciting weekend of events as it welcomes the Utah State Aggies for a three-game Mountain West series beginning April 20. The Lobos will host the Aggies on Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. MT with plenty of promotions for fans to enjoy.

Lobo Softball and Lobo Baseball are teaming up this weekend for a collection of events they’re calling Lobopalooza! Tickets all weekend are just $2 as the softball team takes on Utah State while the baseball team will host UNLV.

Friday – 6 p.m.
–Bark in the Park: First 100 dogs into the park will receive a container of dog treats courtesy of Clark’s Pet Emporium!
–Lobo Respect Teal Game: Sexual Assault Awareness game (the color for sexual assault awareness is teal)
Saturday – 12 p.m.
–Lobos Love Pink: First 80 fans into Saturday’s softball game will receive special, pink Lobo Strike Out Cancer shirts! Event will also include giveaways from the UNM Cancer Center.
Sunday – 12 p.m.
–Earth Day: The Lobos will celebrate Earth Day with free yoga sponsored by Defined Fitness 45 minutes prior to both the softball and baseball game times! Classes will be taught by a Defined Fitness instructor.
–Donate Life: Representatives for Donate Life will be at the games with giveaways!
-Sunday Funday: Youth ages 15 and under can run the bases post game at Lobo Softball Field and get autographs from the Lobo Softball team!
The Lobos (11-29, 4-8 MW) are coming off of a tough loss at UTEP after taking one game in their last three-game series at Colorado State. UNM is tied for seventh in the league, trailed by Utah State which enters the weekend 14-26 overall, 4-11 in conference play.
SERIES HISTORY VS UTAH STATE
Series Record: 24-19 (UNM leads)
Last Meeting: The Lobos and the Aggies met in Logan, Utah last season for a three-game series in which UNM came away with one victory a pair of close losses. The Aggies took game one by a narrow score of 9-7 before UNM earned a 9-5 win in game two. In game three, Utah State clinched the series with a 5-2 win. Jensen Main claimed the game-two win in the circle for the Lobos.

-Senior Chelsea Johnson currently ranks 4th in program history in career homeruns with 31. The record is 39.
-Johnson also ties for fourth in program history in RBI with 131. She is just one away from third and the overall record is 152.
-Johnson is ninth in Lobo history in total bases (286).
-Senior Krissy Fortner ranks 4th in UNM history in appearances with 107.
-Sophomore Cameryn O’Grady is just one walk away from inching into the record book for most walks earned in a single season. She currently has 27 while 28 would tie for 10th in program history.
