Lobos Open Postseason Play with MW Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s golf team opens postseason competition on Friday, April 20 through Sunday, April 22 at the Mountain West Championships in Bremerton, Washington. The tournament, played at the Gold Mountain Golf Club, will consist of three rounds with one round played each day. Teams will begin play at 8 p.m. MT on all three days. The Lobos will be represented by five golfers at the event including redshirt senior Andre Garcia, senior Gustavo Morantes, juniors Sean Carlon and Augustin Holé and freshman Galven Green. Garcia and Carlon led the team at the Aggie Invitational, with Garcia finishing with a final tally of 10-over 226 and Carlon finishing a stroke behind with an 11-over 227 total.

All 11 Mountain West teams will compete at the tournament, with the winner automatically advancing to the NCAA Regionals in mid-May. 

UNLV leads all Mountain West teams in terms of score versus par, finishing 2.64 strokes under par on average. Nevada and Wyoming follow, with the Wolfpack finishing 0.15 strokes over par on average and the Cowboys finishing 0.27 strokes over par on average. UNM sits 10th in the conference, finishing 9.24 strokes over par on average.
