AUGUSTA, Ga. — The University of New Mexico men’s golf team ended its time at the 3M Augusta Invitational in 10th place. The Lobos concluded the tournament with an even 288 in round three for a final tally of 6-over 870.
UNM was led by freshman Galven Green and junior Sean Carlon, with both golfers finishing with even 216 totals. Green shot an even 72 in round three, while Carlon shot a 2-under 70. The duo was followed by redshirt senior Andre Garcia, who shot a 2-over 74 in round three for a 4-over 220. Redshirt freshman Ross Sinclair and sophomore Sam Dickey rounded out the Lobos’ field, with Sinclair posting a 10-over 82 in round three for a 12-over 228 total, while Dickey shot an even 72 in round three for a 17-over 233 total.
No. 15-ranked Illinois ended the tournament with a strong round three performance and a first-place finish, shooting a 13-under 275 for a 25-under 839 total. Houston and No. 22-ranked Wake Forest tied for second-place with 10-under 854 totals. Houston shot an 8-under 280 in round three, while Wake Forest shot a 6-under 282 in round three.
The Lobos will be back in action on Saturday, April 7 through Sunday, April 8 in Bryan, Texas at the Traditions Golf Club for the Aggie Invitational.
