FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — The University of New Mexico women’s diving team ended its 2017-18 season on Tuesday in Flagstaff at the NCAA Zone E Championships. The Lobos were once again represented by junior Allyson Concepcion, sophomore Natasha Dark and freshman Hannah Tiendas in the three-meter dive. 57 divers competed in the event, with 18 advancing to the finals.
UNM was led by Concepcion, who finished in 38th place with a final score 238.00. Concepcion was followed by Dark, who finished in 40th with a final score of 235.40. Finally, Tiendas finished 42nd with a final score of 232.10.
“I couldn’t be more proud of my team,” said head diving coach Julie Weddle. “They worked really hard this year. They showed great spirit and heart. The girls had some great dives today. I love my team and I am looking forward to next season.”
Nevada’s Sharae Zheng once again took home first place for the second day in a row. She posted a preliminary score of 372.35 followed by her final score of 762.35.
