UNM GAME NOTES | FRESNO STATE GAME NOTES
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico softball team is set to return home on Thursday, March 29 as it takes on Fresno State in Mountain West play. The Lobos will play the Bulldogs Thursday at 6 p.m., Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 12 p.m. at Lobo Softball Field.
The weekend series is shifted to Thursday-Saturday due to the Easter holiday on Sunday. Lobo fans will be able to enjoy a special Easter Bunny photo-op and an Easter Egg Hunt during Saturday’s game!
Fans that can’t make it this weekend will be able to follow the game live via live stats and can watch live video on the Mountain West Network (themw.com/live).
The Lobos enter the series 8-24 on the season, 2-4 in Mountain West play while the Bulldogs are 17-14 overall, 2-1 in league play.
UNM comes off of a tough series at Nevada in which the Lobos came away with a victory in game two. In game one, UNM was tied with Nevada 8-8 in the top of the sixth inning before the Wolf Pack rallied for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game 16-8. The Lobos were winning in game three 2-0 in the top of the third before a 13-run third and an 8-run fourth closed the contest. The Lobos added five more in the fifth however to mark the third game in which they scored seven runs or more on the weekend.
Fresno State enters the weekend coming off of a home series against Colorado State. The Bulldogs took games one and three, 9-3 and 4-3, respectively. The Rams earned a victory in game two with a shutout, 4-0.
New Mexico is 6-40 all-time against Fresno State including a trio of losses near the end of last season, 5-0, 10-1 (5) and 3-1.
