Diving Team Travels to Flagstaff for NCAA Diving Zone

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s diving team will head to Flagstaff, Arizona on Monday, March 5 through Wednesday, March 7 for the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships hosted by Northern Arizona University. UNM will compete on Monday and Tuesday in the one-meter and three-meter dives.

The Lobos will be represented by three divers at the event, including junior Allyson Concepcion, sophomore Natasha Dark and freshman Hannah Tiendas. All three divers will compete in both the one-meter and three-meter dives. 

“We are excited to be taking three women to the NCAA Diving Zone this year,” said head diving coach Julie Weddle. “They all have been awesome to coach and I’m thrilled for them to experience this opportunity as a team. They have been training hard and I’m looking forward to seeing great results.”

New Mexico’s NCAA Zone E Diving Championships Schedule (Times in MT):

Monday, March 5
Women’s One-Meter Preliminaries: 11:00 a.m.
Women’s One-Meter Finals: 2:35 p.m.

Tuesday, March 6
Women’s Three-Meter Preliminaries: 11:00 a.m.
Women’s Three-Meter Finals: 2:35 p.m.

There will be 18 NCAA qualifying spots out of Zone E available to the trio of Lobos this year, including nine out of the one-meter dive and nine out of three-meter dive.
