Lobos Travel to Texas for Lone Star Invitational

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The University of New Mexico men’s golf team will head to San Antonio, Texas for the Lone Star Invitational at the Briggs Ranch Golf Club on Monday, March 19 through Tuesday, March 20. The Lobos have had a history of success at the tournament, topping the leaderboard in 2011, 2014 and 2016.

UNM will be represented by redshirt senior Andre Garcia, senior Gustavo Morantes, junior Sean Carlon, sophomore Sam Dickey and freshman Galven Green while redshirt senior Ben Tolsma will compete as an individual.

The 15 teams participating will play together throughout the tournament’s three rounds with the ten individuals being split into two groups of five. Monday’s action will consist of two rounds beginning at 7:30 a.m. MT and Tuesday will have one final round beginning at 7:30 a.m. MT. Both days will begin with shotgun starts. The field is headlined by 2017 Lone Star Invitational champion and No. 7-ranked Oklahoma and includes host UTSA, Arkansas State, Kansas, Little Rock, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, New Mexico State, Rice, Southern Miss, Texas State, ULM and UTEP.
