Lobos are California-Bound for Lamkin Classic

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s golf team will travel to Chula Vista, Calif. on Monday, March 12 for the Lamkin San Diego Classic at the San Diego Country Club. The tournament is hosted by San Diego State and San Diego and will run through Tuesday, March 13.

The tournament will consist of three rounds over the two days. Monday will include two rounds beginning at 9:30 a.m. MT and Tuesday will include a single round beginning at 10:30 a.m. MT. Click here to follow the event via live stats.

The Lobos will be represented by redshirt senior Andre Garcia, juniors Sean Carlon and Augustin Holé, sophomore Sam Dickey and redshirt freshman Ross Sinclair. Carlon led the Lobos at the Southwestern Invitational on February 26 through February 27, finishing the tournament with a final tally of 9-over 225. 

UNM will also have two golfers competing as individuals in Chula Vista including redshirt senior Ben Tolsma and freshman Galven Green.

The 16-team field is headlined by No. 1 ranked Oklahoma State along with No. 11 Texas Tech, No. 13 Texas, and North Carolina, Colorado State and Arizona, with all three receiving votes. The field is rounded out by New Mexico, hosts San Diego State and San Diego, Saint Mary’s, Colorado, Mississippi, Middle Tennessee State, Loyola Maramount and Connecticut.
