ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team continues its Mountain West slate on Saturday on the road at Air Force on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT, the game will air live on ESPN3.

UNM is 12-13 on the season, 7-5 in conference play, and has gone 4-2 over its last six games, including a close 73-71 loss at home on Tuesday against (RV) Boise State.

Air Force is coming off of a 78-73 win at Colorado State on Tuesday following a three-loss streak. The Falcons (9-13, 3-7 MW) are 1-3 in their last four games, 4-7 over their last 11. 

Helping lead the Lobos with 12.3 points per game on the season, junior Anthony Mathis currently ranks sixth in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage at 47.7%. Air Force is led by Lavelle Scottie who posts 12.1 points per game as the only Falcon averaging double-figure scoring.

SERIES HISTORY
New Mexico leads the series history 59-22 including a 21-15 road advantage. Last time the teams met, earlier this season, the Lobos claimed a victory at home on Dec. 27, 87-58. The teams faced each other just once last season due to the uneven number of teams in the Mountain West, but prior to that, the teams split the 2015-16 Season.

Over the last six meetings, the record is even, 3-3.

UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 12-13 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 40-19 in his career. Head coach Dave Pilipovich leads Air Force in his sixth season. He posts an 81-107 record at Air Force, and in his career.
