ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team continues its road stretch with a matchup at San José State on Saturday. The Lobos will take on the Spartans at 4 p.m. MT (3 p.m. PT) on AT&T SportsNet.
UNM enters the game coming off of a tough loss at Utah State that snapped a three-game win streak. The Lobos (11-12, 6-4 MW) dressed just seven players in the matchup and are 5-2 over their last seven games.
San José State (3-18, 0-10 MW) is riding a 10-loss streak that includes a pair of overtime losses to UNLV, 82-76, on Jan. 3 and Wyoming, 90-86, on Jan. 27.
The Lobos are led in conference play by junior Anthony Mathis who averages 16.0 points per game. He is also currently ranked 11th in the country in 3-point field goal
percentage, firing at a clip of 46.8 percent from behind the arc.
Mathis is followed in league play by freshman Makauch Maluach (13.1 ppg), senior Antino Jackson (13.1 ppg) and senior Joe Furstinger (11.7 ppg).
Leading the Spartan offense is junior Ryan Welage, who is the only player to average double figures in conference play at 19.2 ppg.

SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos lead the series with SJSU 12-1 including their most recent victory on Jan. 6. UNM earned an 80-47 win over the Spartans in Albuquerque. The only San José State win in the history between the two squads came last season on Feb. 4, 2017 when they claimed a 78-68 win in The Pit.
