Swim and Dive Team Has Strong Semester in the Classroom

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s swimming and diving team had another successful academic semester in the fall, which has become a habit over the program’s past 20 years.

The Lobos finished the semester with a 3.50 cumulative GPA. This marks the 39th-straight semester where the team has reached the 3.0 mark, and it is the 15th-straight semester with at least a 3.3.

Last semester’s figure was tied for the seventh-highest GPA in program history along with the spring of 2008 and the spring of 2012. The highest mark in the program’s history was a 3.66 GPA in the spring of 2016.

The Lobos will be back in action on Saturday, January 27 when they host in-state rival New Mexico State for their last home meet of the season. UNM will also be celebrating Senior Day for swimmers Madison Burns, Celine Bertrand and Deidra Dorough. Diving will begin at 10:30 a.m. and swimming will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Seidler Natatorium.
