ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is set to take on the Wyoming Cowboys at home in Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. live on Facebook. Both squads are coming off of Mountain West wins on Saturday.

The Lobos (7-10, 2-2 MW) enter the game coming off of a 33-point victory over San José State at home on Saturday that evened their conference record while the Cowboys (11-5, 2-1 MW) are also coming off of a home win. Wyoming took down (RV) Boise State in a 79-78 final in overtime.

Wednesday’s game marks a Dreamstyle Value Game, in which fans can purchase $10 tickets in bench rows 1-25, as well as the final Friends and Family Night. Lobo students can bring three of their favorite friends or family members to join them in the UNM student section, for FREE! Students will also be eligible to receive free lemonade.

SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos lead the series over the Cowboys 68-67 with the first meeting between the two teams occurring on Dec. 18, 1950. Since 2008, the Lobos are 16-4 over Wyoming. 

Last season, UNM and Wyoming split the series, each winning its home matchup. The Lobos earned a 78-71 victory on Jan. 21 in The Pit followed by an 82-71 loss on the road in Laramie on Feb. 25.   

In Overtime: The Lobos have yet to play to overtime this season while the Cowboys have claimed two victories in extra minutes. UNM is 6-3 over Wyoming in overtime in series history including a 2-1 mark at home and a 4-2 record on the road.

THE COACHES
UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 7-10 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 35-16 in his career. The Cowboys are coached by Allen Edwards in his second season. Edwards has led Wyoming to an 11-5 record this season, 34-20 over the past two.
