ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After a little over a week without games due to its bye weekend, the University of New Mexico softball team is back in action and will begin Mountain West play this weekend on the road at UNLV. All three games will air on the Mountain West Network.

Series History
UNLV leads the all-time series against the Lobos, 47-29. The Rebels have won six out of the last nine meetings.
ABOUT THE LOBOS
The Lobos are currently 14-11 on the season and will start Mountain West action this weekend against UNLV. The Lobos are coming off a 8-0, five-inning loss to New Mexico State last Wednesday. Prior to the meeting with the Aggies, the Lobos went 5-1 in their first six home games of the season, which included one of the biggest comebacks in Lobo history.
New Mexico is hitting .311 on the season, which ranks fourth in the Mountain West. Jasmine Casados has pounded out 36 hits thus far, which leads the Mountain West. Shelbie Franc is fifth among the league in batting average and leads the team at .475.
In the circle, the Lobos have a 3.78 earned run average and own a .296 opposing batting average. Krissy Fortner, who is 3-2 on the year, leads the team with a 3.20 ERA. Tess McPherson, who has made the most appearances this season has a team-leading six wins with a 3.52 ERA. McPherson holds her opponents to a team-leading .239 batting average.
ABOUT THE REBELS
UNLV comes into the series with a 17-11 overall record and a 1-2 Mountain West record. The Rebels are coming off a series loss to Utah State. The Rebels dropped the first two games of the series but did come back to win in the finale 8-5.
On the year, the Rebels are hitting .275, which is eight among the league. Janine Petmecky leads the squad through 28 games with a .333 average. The Rebels have a total of 11 home runs on the year.
In the circle, the Rebels are the third best pitching staff among the league in ERA. Their earned run average is 3.18 and they hold their opponents to a .285 batting average. Morgan Ettinger leads the Rebels with a 2.89 ERA. In 97 innings, she has struck out 72 batters.
