ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team remains at home on Tuesday night as the squad is set to host Rice University at 7:30 p.m. on AT&T SportsNet. Both the Lobos and the Owls enter the match coming off of tough matches against ranked opponents.

Tuesday’s game marks the third in a stretch of five straight that the Lobos will host at home. It also marks the first of four Friends and Family Nights where students may bring three additional guests for free – just by presenting their student ID!

The first 1,000 fans to enter Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit on Tuesday night will receive a special UNM holiday ornament. Also, the Lobos are hosting a Coat Drive in which fans can bring a new or slightly used coat and get a $10 ticket to bench seats in rows 1-10.

SERIES HISTORY
The history between Rice and UNM began on Dec. 22, 1958 when Rice earned an 81-69 win in Albuquerque. The Lobos went on a 4-0 streak from 1993-99 before falling against Rice in the teams’ last meeting on Dec. 19, 2015 in Albuquerque.

The Lobos are 2-2 on their home turf including a 2-1 record in The Pit.

Last time the two teams played, Sam Logwood saw 31 minutes on the court while Joe Furstinger played 13 minutes, Dane Kuiper played four and Anthony Mathis played seven.

THE COACHES
UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 3-8 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 31-14 in his career. Rice also has a first-year head coach in Scott Pera who enters the game 3-8 on the season and in his career.
