ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is set to continue its road stint with a trip to Colorado on Wednesday. The Lobos and the Buffs will face off at 7 pm. MT in the Coors Events Center in Boulder, Colo.
The Lobos (3-5) enter Wednesday’s game coming off of loss at UTEP on Saturday while Colorado (6-1) suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday against in-state rival and Mountain West school Colorado State.
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
-The Lobos enter Wednesday’s game coming off of a 1-1 week, earning a 78-59 win over Evansville before falling 88-76 on the road at UTEP.
-The Lobos are still in search of their first away victory of the season.
-Colorado enters the matchup coming off of a disappointing rivalry loss against Colorado State, 72-63.
-CU’s loss against Mountain West opponent Colorado State marked the first of the season for the Buffs.
-This week’s match will mark the 14th time in history that the two programs have faced off.
-Last time UNM took on Colorado was in Las Vegas on Dec. 22, 2010. The Lobos claimed an 89-76 victory.
-UNM is on a three-win streak over the Buffs and holds a 7-6 advantage on the series.

The Lobos and the Buffs began their series on January 27, 1926 and have played 13 games since. UNM holds a 7-6 advantage overall including a 3-2 record at home. On the road it’s the Buffs that have an advantage, having gone 4-3 in Boulder. The Lobos also lead the neutral series as UNM is 1-0. The lone neutral game in the series history happens to be the last time the teams faced off, on December 22, 2010 when UNM earned an 89-76 win in Las Vegas, Nev.
