ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s golf team will travel to Fort Collins, Colo. on Monday for the Ram Masters Invitational at the Fort Collins Country Club. The Lobos’ second tournament of the season will be played on Monday, September 18 through Tuesday, September 19.

LIVE STATS

Three of the 19 teams competing in the event participated in last season’s NCAA Tournament, including UNM, South Dakota State and Wichita State. In addition, four others were 2017 NCAA Individual Regional Participants, one of which was host Colorado State University. The Rams have taken full advantage of playing at home in recent years, winning the previous three Ram Masters Invitationals.

The teams are scheduled to play three rounds in total, two on day one and the third on day two. Order-of-play will be determined by a shotgun start for the first two rounds, and tee times will be set for the third round based on Monday’s results. The Lobos have positives to build on following last week’s Gopher Invitational, including the strong play of freshman Galven Green and redshirt senior Andre Garcia. Green was UNM’s top performer in the event while Garcia was consistent throughout with two even rounds to close the tournament.

“I have heard great things about Fort Collins Country Club and am looking forward to getting up there,” head coach Glen Millican said. “We’ve had a good week of practice and are ready to get back out and play well in Colorado.”
