New Mexico Game Notes | Boise State Game Notes
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico football team, fresh off a near epic-comeback, will already have two practices in the books by the time head coach Bob Davie meets with the media at 12:30 today (available at www.facebook.com/NewMexicoLobos via Facebook Live). The team practiced Sunday night and again Monday morning, with one more slated for Tuesday before a Wednesday flight to Boise to take on the Broncos in the Mountain West opener for both teams.
Both teams are coming off stinging losses, with the Lobos losing 30-28 to New Mexico State after trailing 30-5 in the fourth quarter, missing a tying two-point try at the end of the game. Boise State lost 47-44 in triple overtime at No. 20 Washington State after leading 31-10 with under nine minutes left in the fourth quarter.
The task is a tall one for UNM, as Boise State has won its last 19 conference openers, and its 103-6 in its last 109 games at Albertsons Stadium. One of those six losses was to UNM, 31-24 in the last meeting in Boise.
GAME TIME ANNOUNCED FOR UNM’S GAME WITH TULSA
New Mexico’s game on September 23 was selected for ESPN3 broadcast, and the game will kickoff off at 12:30 p.m. in Tulsa, which is 11:30 a.m. in the Mountain Time zone and Albuquerque.
NO LOBO TALK TONIGHT
Due to the condensed schedule brought about by the Thursday game, it was decided to move this week’s Lobo Talk to a date later in the season. That date, which will either be during UNM’s bye week or immeditaely after the season, will be determined at a later date. Lobo talk will resume on Wednesday, September 20 prior to the Tulsa game.
