ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — If you or anyone you know is a fan of the Lobos, and always wanted an authentic jersey, authentic shoes, and pretty much anything official from the Lobos, and you also like auctions … Friday, September 8 is your lucky day.
Lobo Athletics, in conjunction with University Services & Bentley’s Auction, will be having an on-line auction for various UNM apparel & equipment items. Fans from anywhere around the country can bid on, and own items such as authentic jerseys, practice gear, banners from The Pit, usher vests, plaques from bowl games, athletic shoes, dri-fits, polos, jackets and more. Guaranteed there will be something for everyone in this auction.
The host site for the auction is http://www.bentleysauction.com.
It’s an auction so big, it will run in two waves beginning on Friday, September 8 through Wednesday, September 13. There are 7,714 different and separate items (and nearly 25,000 pictures of said items on the Bentley’s website.
Sale 1 will run from September 8 through September 12, and it will consist of shoes of various sizes and styles. Sale 2 will run from September 8 through September 13 and it will consist of clothing, banners, chairs and basically everything else, and there will be over 5,000 listings in just that sale alone. Fans don’t have to buy a lot with four or five jerseys, or a jersey and a jacket. Every lot is a single packaged item, meaning it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some early Holiday gifts for the Lobo fan in the family, or just get authentic gear.
“It has been awhile since we did our last type of sale like this, so our inventory has been building. This is a great opportunity for Lobo fans to purchase a large variety of team gear and proceeds will support our entire athletic department” said Brad Hutchins, deputy athletic director for external affairs.
Working together and following University procedures, each of the items were inventoried and processed. A total of 38 palettes of gear in total were collected by Bentley’s Auction. Bentley’s Auction will be handling all the sales.
“It was a pleasure working with UNM Athletics and the locally owned Bentley’s & Associates, LLC.” Said Marcos Roybal of University Services. “All the equipment that was disposed of complied with New Mexico disposition guidelines and the strategy to pursue public auction for these items will maximize the return to UNM Athletics.”
