ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — As the University of New Mexico women’s soccer team celebrates its 25th anniversary this season, we are going to catch up with some UNM women’s soccer alums throughout the year – those student-athletes who helped pave the way to make this the program it is today.

In our second edition we talk with Terryn Dyche (formerly Granados) – who played for the Lobos from 2004-07.

– Where are you living and what are you up to?
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and am coaching youth soccer.

– How did attending UNM and being part of the soccer program set you up for success?
Attending UNM and being a part of the soccer program helped me to realize my goals academically and athletically were possible. The support on and off the field allowed each of us to work hard day in and day out. Being a student-athlete helped me to become better at managing time and priorities, which in turn helped me get tasks done more efficiently in my job.

– What do you miss most about playing?
So much! I miss playing with the ball at my feet. I really miss making a pass to a teammate to give them an opportunity to score!

– What have you enjoyed about the program since Heather Dyche took over?
The best part about Heather taking over the program is her leadership and integrity. She will always treat people with respect and get the very most from every player. The knowledge of the game and experience she brings to the program is the best of the best. She inspires me to be a better coach every day. Can’t wait to see what her and her staff will continue to do for the program. Sky’s the limit!

– The ever important question to anyone who has spent time in New Mexico: Red or Green?
Green!
