ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico softball team garnered an All-Mountain West honor, as the conference announced Chelsea Johnson to the second team. The Mountain West announced the honors Wednesday afternoon.
The all-conference honor is the second one for Johnson in her three years. She hit .347 in conference action with a team-leading four home runs, 25 hits and 15 RBIs. She finished the conference schedule with a .556 slugging percentage and a .364 on-base percentage. She walked twice in the 24 conference games and struck out eight times.
On the year, Johnson hit .369 which was third on the team. She tallied 48 hits, including 10 doubles and a team-leading seven home runs. She finished with an overall .608 slugging percentage and a .408 on-base percentage. In 44 games played, she had a .976 fielding percentage, committing just three errors on the year.
