ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Practice on the actually field might have looked the same, but the action on the sidelines certainly didn’t.  The New Mexico Lobos and head coach Bob Davie hosted its annual Coaches Clinic on Friday, and around 75 high school coaches from New Mexico and around the country came out, got a meal and took in all the Lobos had to offer.

The day started out with meetings for the players … and meetings for the high school coaches as well, with a tour of some of UNM’s football facilities.  From there, the high school coaches were free to hop from one drill to another.  Most of the line coaches took particular interest in Saga Tuitele’s group.  High school coaches could be seen taking video of UNM’s quarterback drills.

After practice, the coaches were provided a meal, and then brought into the new team meeting room where Coach Davie was able to break down today’s practice video.  “To show them why we do what we do,” said Davie.

The clinic lent an added air of excitement to the eighth of 15 practices for the Lobos as the Spring Showcase is now just 15 days away, on April 22.  On Wednesday, the Lobos had six games selected for national television, including a Thursday night prime time ESPN game and three Friday games, two at home on ESPN2.

Tickets are on sale now for new season ticket accounts, and renewals for the 2017 season are being mailed out.  Don’t miss any of the great action this season by calling 925-LOBO, or going to www.unmtickets.com.
