ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is searching for students who would like to join the program as student managers for the 2017-18 academic year.
Any full time UNM student is welcome to apply. Students interested in a manager position must be available for both practices and games. Practice is typically held in the afternoon during the week and sometimes on weekends. Summer work is also possible during the Paul Weir Basketball Camps held June 5-10 and June 15-18.
Students accepted will have a chance to work with one the Mountain West’s premier basketball programs and help the Lobos in their campaign for a conference title. Managers will also get hands-on experience in collegiate athletics working with coaches, players, support staff, and administration. This position offers real-world experience for any student who is interested in pursuing a career in sports administration, coaching, or a related field.
Managers will receive priority registration for classes, authentic team Nike gear, a small stipend each semester, and an opportunity to travel to away competition.
