ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Head coach Ben Dunbar has announced a second addition to the 2017-18 University of New Mexico Men’s Tennis team signing class. The Lobos are proud to welcome Philip Stockmar from Frankfurt, Germany.
Stockmar joins his training partner, and close friend, Tim Buettner in signing with the cherry and silver tennis team. He is a highly accomplished junior in Germany and is currently ranked No. 160 in the open division. He has a vast experience of playing all over Europe and at the highest level in Germany.
“We are really excited to announce the signing of Philip,” said Dunbar. “It was important in this class to get some guys that we felt would make an immediate impact and, with Philip and Tim, I believe we got this. They are friends and training partners so they know one another well and I believe they will fit in great with our team culture. Philip has a relentless attitude on the court and we look forward to watching that translate to success in college tennis in the coming years. I believe these two signings will help us push towards our goals we have set for our program moving forward.”
Stockmar is Coach Dunbar’s second signing player as head coach of the Lobos.
