TEMPE, A.Z. – The University of New Mexico women’s golf team is heading to Tempe, Arizona for the PING/ASU Invitational held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course starting on Friday, April 7th.
“It’s our last regular season event with a very strong field,” said head coach Jill Trujillo.
The field is led by No. 5 Arizona State, who not only is the host of this invitational, but have won on their home course 19 times since the inaugural year of 1973. No. 17 Arizona won this invitational in 2015 and has previously claimed first place two times before that in 1997 and 2000.
“I would like to see that we will reduce our mistakes and put together three good rounds,” said Trujillo.
UNM made an intention for this season to “stay in the moment” and continue to improve which has been a consistent goal shared by each player. This par-72 course of 6,223 yards will provide the Lobos that chance to improve as much as they can as this season comes to an end.
First round for the Lobos will be at 8 a.m. [MT] on Friday, April 7th where they will play 18-holes on the day.
