SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — After a two hour and 15-minute rain delay to start the match, UC Santa Barbara took down New Mexico in women’s tennis action 4-0 in Santa Barbara to end UNM’s season opening 10-match road swing.

The loss dropped UNM to 1-9 on the season, but the Lobos will finally get a little bit of home cooking as they will play against Minnesota at home on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.

UNM dropped the doubled point for the 10th time in a row this Spring, but for the third straight match it went 2-1.  UNM picked up a win at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1 drubbing by Dominique Dulski and Rachana Bhat, but that was the only win it got, putting UNM in a 1-0 hole.  They never recovered from that opening point.

UC Santa Barbara used three straight set wins to take a 4-0 match, getting wins at No. 6, No. 3 and No. 2 singles.  The match ended at that point due to the delay and UNM’s scheduled flight out.
