KANE’OHE, Hawaii  – The University of New Mexico women’s golf team finished 11th at the two-day Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kane’ohe Klipper Golf Course in Kane’ohe, Hawaii.

For the Lobos, senior Manon Mollé had a very consistent tournament, scoring a 72 in all three rounds to total a final score of 216 strokes. Following Mollé, junior Ingrid Gutierrez trailed very close to her teammate’s score with a 75-71-72, totaling at 218.

“Manon and Ingrid had a good tournament,” said head coach Jill Trujillo.

Senior Eva Saulnier had a respectable tournament with a 78-76-77 in the three rounds and finishing with a total score of 231. Sophomore Darian Zachek fell only four shots behind Saulnier with 76-80-79, totaling at 235 here in Hawaii. Junior Alexandra Moisand had a rocky start at the beginning with an 81 in the first round but worked her way through the second and third rounds earning a 76-78, finishing at 235.

The Lobo senior competing as an individual, Katerina Jaeger had a few tough rounds earning 80-78-81 and totaling her score at 239. However, the highlight of this invitational was made by Jaeger who earned her first career hole-in-one in the first round.

“We are working towards making fewer mistakes before we head to conference in a month,” mentioned Trujillo.

The Lobos will be heading to the March Mayhem at The Farms hosted by San Diego State University on Saturday, March 18 and will be playing the first and second rounds starting on that Monday, March 20 at the The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California.
