KANE’OHE, H.I. – The University of New Mexico women’s golf team headed down South to the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Saturday, Mar. 11 to participate in the three-round tournament hosted by the University of Hawai’i.
UNM hasn’t been a part of this field since 2013 where former Lobo Sammi Stevens earned third place for the Lobos. Stevens recorded the lowest 54-hole total of her career at the time to finish in a tie for third place at this same invitational.
“Looks like it will be an incredible event with stiff competition,” said head coach Jill Trujillo. “We’re ready for something good to come our way.”
It may be spring break for UNM but these Lobos intend on playing hard and concentrating on sticking with this season’s theme of staying in the moment.
The tournament will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m. [UTC] which is 12 p.m. [MT] and continuous play of 36-holes on Tuesday, Mar. 14 at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
