ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s soccer program has released its 2017 spring schedule, which includes a trio of home dates for the public to get a sneak peak at next season’s squad.
The Lobos are coming off a 9-7-3 season in head coach Heather Dyche’s second year at the helm and graduate six seniors off that club – including four starters.
“The spring is really important in the growth of our team,” Dyche said. “We have a lot of young players that are trying to fight for starting positions, and our spring games will give them an opportunity to play against some quality opponents. We are looking forward to getting back on the field and playing some games.”
UNM opens its spring schedule April 1 in Flagstaff, Arizona, against Northern Arizona (1 p.m.) and Embry Riddle (5 p.m.).
The Lobos then play three home scrimmages against an alumni/practice squad April 8 at 10 a.m., Texas Tech on April 15 at 2 p.m. and Fort Lewis on April 16 at noon. All home contests will be played at the UNM Robertson Practice Facility.
UNM closes out its spring schedule at Arizona April 22 (1 p.m. – Tucson, Arizona) and at UTEP April 23 (11 a.m. – El Paso, Texas).
